James Dimmock
New York based celebrity photographer James Dimmock has shot it all. Super high profile names include Mike Tyson, Daniel Craig, Sir Ben Kingsley, David Beckham, George Michael, Will Smith, to name a few, along with top advertising campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Levi's, Nike and Adidas, amongst many others.
He required a total redesign and build of his existing website which was built entirely in Flash. An overview of the new requirements were; a CMS based fast loading, simple, stylish website utilising a horizontal scroll to display a large range of images in one hit. The site had to be compatible with mobile devices including playing movies from the new film section without the use of Flash. Quite a task.
Using HTML, CSS and ExpressionEngine - our CMS of choice - we built a site which is completely updateable via an online control panel, and utilises some of the new HTML5 features to enable the films to play on any platform, device or browser combination. Also, by some clever use of CSS, the site responds to your browser dimensions and changes the layout to suit.
Job done, client happy, smiley faces all round.
